Helium (HNT) Officially Proposes March 27 for Transition to Solana Network
The Helium Foundation has officially proposed March 27, 2023, as the transition date of the blockchain network to Solana. This move, which has been worked on for months, is expected to enable the Helium Network to achieve greater scale and become a network of networks.
The transition will cover all wallets, hotspots and Helium Network status, and will take place over a 24-hour transition period starting at 18:00 UK time.
To ensure a smooth transition, an Upgrade Readiness Working Group is being formed with volunteers from the community to oversee the transition process and have the final say on the transition date.
The move to Solana was made possible by the community’s adoption of the HIP-70 last year and several solutions to scale the Helium network. In parallel with the migration of the network state to the Solana blockchain, the migration of Proof of Coverage and Data Transfer operations to Oracles removes major scaling bottlenecks for both of these core functions.
Once the transaction is complete, HNT will be natively compatible with other platforms in Solana’s ecosystem and HNT, MOBILE And IOT It will provide usage space for token holders.
The majority of hotspot and token holders (HNT and MOBILE) do not need to take any action to participate in the update.
