According to the news in Sözcü newspaper, a citizen named BT, who bought a car in 2017, noticed an adverse situation during the inspection of his vehicle. Realizing that the car, which should be at 220 thousand kilometers, is at 262 thousand kilometers, the buyer filed a lawsuit with the Ankara 19th Civil Court of First Instance regarding the issue.
When the victim BT learned the truth, he first called A.Ö., from whom he bought the vehicle, and explained the situation, but he applied to the court in 2017 because he did not receive a response. In the petition, the buyer stated that the engine malfunctioned shortly after receiving the vehicle and that he had spent 26 thousand liras for the elimination of the malfunctions.

The buyer, who later stated that the vehicle inflicted many costs on him, demanded that he be paid with legal interest since 2017. On the other hand, the person selling the vehicle denied the allegations. A.Ö. stated that he certainly did not change the mileage of the vehicle and that the malfunction may have occurred due to the plaintiff’s misuse.
However, the court found the buyer right. According to the expert report, the mileage of the vehicle was reduced by approximately 55 thousand kilometers. According to the calculation at that time, it was determined that the vehicle had lost 8 thousand liras in value. The court ruled that 8 thousand liras, together with the legal interest, should be taken from the defendant and given to the plaintiff since 2017.
