Frankfurt The nervousness in the financial markets caught up with the crypto world at the weekend and dragged the prices of crypto currencies such as Bitcoin and Ether down with it. Second and third tier digital currencies were also affected.

According to data from the Coinmarketcap platform, Bitcoin, the oldest and largest cryptocurrency, fell to just under $ 42,900 on the night from Friday to Saturday. The most traded cryptocurrency was last listed this low at the end of September. Over the course of the weekend, the price recovered slightly, most recently the Bitcoin was trading at just over 49,000 dollars on Sunday lunchtime.

The crypto currency ether, after Bitcoin, the second largest among the now around 15,000 crypto currencies, lost more than 20 percent of its value in a 24-hour comparison. The cyber currency was trading at $ 3,525 on Saturday before recovering a little and rising again to just over $ 4,200 on Sunday lunchtime.
