The Central Bank of Russia Wants Bitcoin Miners to Restrict the Sale of BTC!

Russia for a while cryptocurrency continues to discuss the use of units in international trade and the legal status of miners in the country.

According to the latest reports in local news agencies, the Russian Central Bank conceptually supports the bill legalizing cryptocurrency mining, which is already before the Russian Parliament, but demands some limitations.

Accordingly, digital currencies obtained as a result of crypto currency mining can only be sold on foreign exchange exchanges and they will be prohibited from selling to Russian residents.

In the information given to IFX by the press service of the Central Bank of Russia, it was said that miners should use an authorized institution as an intermediary in order to sell the cryptocurrencies they have obtained domestically.

“The Bank of Russia conceptually supports the bill.

However, we want some restrictions on mining cryptocurrencies.

We also believe that mining cryptocurrencies can only be sold to non-Russian residents.”

The Ministry of Finance opposes the Central Bank’s thesis that “cryptocurrencies from mining can be sold through an authorized institution using Russian information systems”.

Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev said the Bank of Russia’s proposal requires full licensing and they are against it.

Anatoly Aksakov, head of the Russian Parliament market committee, stated that these disagreements between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank are not irreconcilable.

Representatives of the cryptocurrency mining industry in Russia also stated that they were confused by these statements and it was still unclear under what conditions the miners would be able to sell their income.
