Dusseldorf Why does an executive make it into top management while an equally qualified colleague is stuck? Dorothea Assig and Dorothee Echter have been analyzing this for more than two decades. Together, the career coaches have accompanied more than 4,000 executives. On October 26, the lessons learned will appear in book form, entitled: “One day you will see how good I am!” It clears up myths that can stand in the way of a top career.
For example with the assumption “my achievements will be discovered and rewarded with a promotion”. Assig says: “The opposite is the case.” The suitability for the boardroom is called into question when ambitious people want to prove again and again how competently they work.
