The best-selling manufacturers have been announced: The surprising rise from Motorola

Motorola, which carried out successful works in the telephone industry for a while, but moved away from its old days by not keeping up with the changes in the sector since 2010, experienced a change in its identity after being acquired by Lenovo in 2014. The company, which has entered a major restructuring process, has started to remind of its old days as of today.

Motorola is returning to its old days step by step

As of 2010, Motorola lost its market share to competitors and lost its former power to a large extent. Although it continued to introduce new products in this process, it fell short of expectations in terms of sales figures as it moved away from its former popularity.

After being acquired by Lenovo, it slowly started to return to its old days after a few years with the right restructuring. In fact, late last year, it competed with Xiaomi to be the first company to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Motorola won this race and launched the Moto Edge X30 in December.

According to the Counterpoint Research report, Motorola, which started to struggle with the giants in the industry by reminding its old days, increased its sales after LG’s withdrawal from the phone business last year and became the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the USA.

Motorola’s smartphone sales in the US increased by 131 percent in 2021 compared to the previous year, allowing the company to reach a market share of 10 percent. Apart from that, Apple closed 2021 with a market share of 58% and Samsung with a market share of 22%. Finally, Motorola is thought to rise in the global market with new moves to be made in the future.

So what do you think about this subject? Do you think Motorola can go back to its old days and take the leadership seat in the industry? Or is it too late now? Do not forget to share your views with us in the comments section or on the SDN Forum.
