The statement made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is as follows;

Taking advantage of the earthquake that took place in our country on February 6, 2023 and affecting 10 provinces, some bus companies operating in AŞTİ increased their ticket prices 2-3 times, and the prices of many goods, especially blankets, which are of vital importance for the use of the citizens affected by the earthquake, are exorbitant by the relevant sellers. An investigation was initiated by our Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office for the crimes of ‘influencing prices’ and ‘avoiding the sale of goods or services’, following the notifications that the rate of increase.
