Tesla saw a decline in sales figures after a long time

While much of the auto industry saw a significant drop in deliveries in 2020 due to the pandemic and subsequent chip shortages, Tesla has managed to grow impressively in the process. Reaching record sales figures in a row, Tesla experienced a significant decline in the last quarter.

Tesla sales fell after a long time

Tesla announced the figures for the third quarter of 2022 on Saturday. Accordingly, the electric car manufacturer’s worldwide vehicle deliveries between April and June decreased by 18 percent compared to the first quarter of the year.

As the reason for the decrease, Tesla’s factory in Shanghai was shown to be closed for a while due to COVID. The company said on Saturday that it delivered more than 254,000 vehicles in the second quarter. However, in the previous period, the company had brought 310 thousand vehicles together with its customers.

Tesla, which experienced a significant decrease in sales figures compared to the previous quarter, has increased by 26 percent compared to the last quarter of 2021. The company made a statement on the subject. The following statements were included in the statement:

Despite continued supply chain challenges and factory closures beyond our control in the second quarter, we produced more than 258,000 vehicles and delivered more than 254,000 vehicles. June 2022 was the highest vehicle production month in Tesla’s history.

Tesla currently has four different models. We see that the majority of the company’s sales in this period are concentrated on two models. Accordingly, Tesla’s cheaper Model 3 and Model Y reached a total sales figure of 238 thousand 533 units. Model S and Model X, on the other hand, achieved 16,162 sales in this period.
