Frankfurt It usually takes between six and eight weeks for the tax authorities to process a submitted tax return. This is shown by data from the tax tool wage tax compact. In the coming year, this could turn into several months.

According to the assessment of the German tax union, the reason for this is the relief measures of the traffic light coalition, such as the energy price flat rate, reports the “Bild-Zeitung”. Thousands of citizens, such as pensioners, slipped into tax liability due to the special government benefits and had to submit a declaration. And that could lead to overburdening the tax offices and months of delays.

The offers of an increasing number of tax start-ups appear all the more attractive. They offer an immediate partial payment of the expected tax refund. After Steuergott, which pays out 80 percent, and the investor favorite Taxfix, which offers 50 percent, Zasta is now following suit.
