Frankfurt. After the takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS, Zurich’s reputation as a financial center was tarnished. According to the analysts at private bank Maerki Baumann, however, the most recent developments are obscuring the opportunities on the Swiss stock market.

Chief investment strategist Gérard Piasko explains this in an interview with the Handelsblatt with the comparatively small share of bank stocks in the Swiss stock index: With the papers from UBS and Julius Baer, ​​for example, it is lower than the bank share in the Euro Stoxx, where the part accounts for nine percent. And the expert adds: “Bank-like financial service providers and banks are also weighted higher in the USA than in the Swiss stock index.”
