Stromio stops deliveries – what consumers need to know now

Low-cost electricity provider Stromio must stop delivering.

Dusseldorf The electricity discounter Stromio is no longer allowed to supply customers. According to information on Wednesday, the network operators terminated their contracts with the company. At the beginning of December, the sister company Gas.de and the joint brand Grünwelt Energie had already stopped supplying gas for the same reason.

Previously, larger German energy suppliers such as Brandenburger Otima AG had terminated their natural gas supply contracts with consumers at short notice.

The low-cost providers Stromio and Gas.de from Kaarst in North Rhine-Westphalia are troubled by the current sharp rise in prices on the energy market, as Gas.de announced on its website. Stromio has not yet commented on the events. Consumer advocates recommend customers to clarify the contractual relationships as soon as possible.
