Strategies from the global hunger crisis

The numbers are catchy: over 800 million people are starving, more than two billion suffer from malnutrition. And a quick solution to the problem is currently not in sight. Against this background, we ask ourselves: How can we ensure global nutrition in the long term? Can technology help? How do current events affect the situation in the world? What does this situation mean for Germany and the German economy?

We will stream on October 12th from 4 p.m. instead of live. Handelsblatt foreign correspondent Nicole Bastian discusses with:

• Silvia Bender, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture
• Mulu Solomon Bezuneh, Ethiopian Ambassador to Germany
• dr Francesco Branca, Director, Department of Nutrition and Food Safety, World Health Organization (WHO), Switzerland
• Enock Chikava, Interim Director Agricultural Development, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
• Prof. Dr. Hermann Lotze-Campen, Head of Department “Climate Resilience” at PIK, Prof. for Sustainable Land Use & Climate Change at the HU Berlin
