Once you have fought your way through the traffic juggernaut of Stuttgart to the center of the city and found the poorly signposted exit to the hotel, you finally stand in front of the Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin. The page of the five-star hotel greets me in a friendly manner, introduces himself as Hassan and immediately takes care of my luggage. He will remain my highlight of this visit.
Hassan accompanies me to my room after the tedious check-in, is polite and addresses me several times by name – in contrast to the other employees. Not a trace of cordiality. I don’t really feel welcome.
