Special Communications Tax Increase Rate Announced

The Special Communications Tax, which is collected from all kinds of mobile electronic communication and services such as the internet, was increased by 36.2% with the Official Gazette published today. In addition, Environmental Cleaning Tax, Stamp Duty, fees and Tax Procedure Law (VUK) were increased at the same rate.

The Special Communications Tax, which was first introduced in 1999, is applied to all kinds of mobile electronic communication, radio and television broadcasts, and cable and wireless internet service providers. A certain amount calculated over each service and service fee that the user benefits from is transmitted to the state. The Special Communication Tax was increased to 10% with the decision published in the Official Gazette dated January 30.

Along with the Official Gazette published tonight Special Communication Tax rate was increased. With the decision published in the Official Gazette dated 21 December 2021 and numbered 31696, Special Communications Tax will be effective from 1 January 2022. Increased by 36.2%.
