Solana Network Shock: One-Fifth of Verifiers Suddenly Offline!

Data from the RockawayX infrastructure dashboard shows that the unpaid stake rate on the Solana network is 22%, the highest since May.

A Solana stake becomes unpaid when the authenticator to which the stake was commissioned goes offline. At this point, validators and the commissioner cannot win prizes.

Hetzner was already considering banning cryptocurrency node operators. The company’s terms of service state that crypto activities are prohibited.

At that time, the company’s attention was Ethereum It focused on Ethereum node operators as it hosts around 16% of hosting nodes. That number has since dropped to 12%.

Now it looks like Hetzner is taking action against SOL validators. Hetzner has yet to respond to a request for comment on the matter.

The Solana network appears unaffected, although 22% of the network’s security members are offline. The SOL status page does not show any interruptions as of the time of writing. The network has suffered multiple network outages before.

Delegates and validators affected by Hetzner’s move will need to find viable alternatives to continue earning their stake rewards. Solana Labs co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko urged network participants to move their stakes elsewhere.
