Who will be the future CEO of Apple?
Every Apple event starts with Tim Cook’s speech, moves between departments and ends with him again. Today, we listened and saw officials from the relevant units for iPad and Apple Pencil. After Weinbach’s move, the number of people who supported and commented on the post grew like an avalanche. Well, considering that those who have been at Apple for many years have been CEOs such as Steve Jobs and Tim Cook, can John Ternus really be the new CEO?
Tim Cook and John Ternus, Apple Inc. They played different but important roles within the organization. Tim Cook became Apple’s CEO in 2011, succeeding Steve Jobs, and is responsible for setting the company’s strategic direction, managing its overall performance, and upholding Apple’s vision and values. Under Cook’s leadership, Apple expanded into global markets and launched a number of new products.
On the other hand, John Ternus serves as Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Apple and manages the entire hardware engineering processes of devices such as iPhone, iPad and Mac. Ternus came into this role in 2021 and forms the bridge between technical innovations and hardware design.
While both contribute to Apple’s success, Cook is more interested in overall business strategies and Ternus is more specifically involved in product design and hardware development. Additionally, Ternus has been working at Apple since 2001, so we can say that he is from the Steve Jobs school.
Therefore, even though it is just a rumor circulating on social media for now, let’s say that John Termus is among the ideal candidates for this job and we can see him as the CEO of Apple in the future.
