Husum, Munich At the Husum Wind trade fair in recent days, the major wind power manufacturers presented their latest turbines and wooed new customers. Siemens Gamesa was also represented with a large stand. But the group is currently only partially interested in new orders: According to industry circles, Siemens Gamesa has largely stopped new business with its problem-plagued onshore turbine.
The spokesman for the Siemens Energy Group, to which Gamesa belongs, denied a general sales stop, but confirmed the restricted sales: “Our absolute priority is to revise the affected systems in existing customer projects. That’s our focus.”
According to company circles, the main focus at the moment is on solving the problems. There is also a high order backlog that needs to be processed first. Siemens Gamesa has promised that the problems for wind turbines to be delivered from now on will be resolved.
