Shortage of skilled workers: Electricity supplier Lichtblick buys craftsmen’s exchange

Dusseldorf Providers like Lichtblick cannot install as many solar systems, heat pumps and storage systems as are currently in demand – there is a lack of specialists. In order to change that, the green electricity supplier has now bought the craftsman platform Installion without further ado. “The purchase of Installion is an extremely important acquisition for us and a crucial piece of the puzzle to advance the energy transition in Germany,” says Lichtblick CEO Constantin Eis, assessing the purchase decision.

The start-up Installion, which was only founded in 2019, has tens of thousands of craftsmen from all over Germany in its database, which it places with clients via an online platform. Because the demand for craftsmen was so great, Installion also trained its own craftsmen. Lichtblick is now securing both for a mid-double-digit million amount – and thus taking Installion off the market for the competition.
