Ragnar Shib, a respected administrator in the SHIB ecosystem, recently fell victim to a Telegram hijacking. The compromised account was misused to announce an unauthorized BONE token airdrop.
A deceptive Shiba Inu-focused airdrop scam
This scam attempted to create a sense of urgency among Shiba Inu enthusiasts by claiming that the airdrop had a limited supply. The scammers’ message was aimed at luring users:
“The BONE community airdrop wave is now open for request. A moment many of you have been waiting for! We appreciate the increase in interest and engagement so far in Shib’s journey. Owners, followers, and builders may be eligible to claim a certain amount of BONE, more information below. The airdrop will be open to all followers of the Shiba Inu ecosystem. We want everyone to be involved. Tokens will be provided by the team treasury wallet. So this will be a limited wave.”
Safety warning for Shiba Inu community
In response to these fraudulent activities, leading figures in the Shiba Inu ecosystem took action. Accordingly, they issued a warning to inform and protect the community. Vet Kusama, a major influencer in the SHIB space, used the X platform to clarify the situation. “RagnarShiba TG account has been hacked. Do not click on any links. “There is no airdrop.” says. His post also included a censored screenshot of misleading content from Ragnar Shib’s hacked account.
Shiba Inu Discord channel administrator DaVinci also warned the community not to interact with the hacked Telegram account. “To protect yourself from potential fraud, please avoid any communications or transactions with this account. “Stay safe and report any suspicious activity immediately,” he advises. Lucie, Shiba Inu’s chief marketing strategist, shared DaVinci’s message on the X platform. Accordingly, he further strengthened this warning and underlined the importance of caution.

Following this security breach, advice came from some community members. Accordingly, they emphasized that the Shiba Inu development team should prioritize establishing a cybersecurity department.
