Bodybuilder Shawn Rhoden is dead. 2018 Mr. Olympia died of a heart attack at the age of 46.
Chris Aceto, Rhoden’s trainer, has confirmed the death news on Instagram.
He writes: “He gave everyone a boost. For that and for many other reasons I will miss an athlete who of course became a true and dear friend. “
Rhoden, born in Kingston / Jamaica, defeated Phil Heath at Mr. Olympia in 2018. He had previously triumphed seven times in a row at the most important bodybuilding competition.
In 2019, “Flexatron”, Rhoden’s bodybuilder nickname, was charged with rape. He allegedly assaulted a female bodybuilder in a hotel room in Utah. In July 2019, Rhoden was convicted and excluded from further Mr. Olympia competitions.
Rhoden leaves behind a daughter, Cora Capri. At the end of October, he posted a photo of himself and her on Instagram shortly before Halloween in a Batman costume.
