The Bonn virologist Hendrik Streeck advocates the abolition of differences between the vaccinated and unvaccinated in the fight against Corona. “We have to carefully return to normality. From my point of view, there should be no difference between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated,” he told the “Münchner Merkur”. “Twice vaccinated people transmit the virus like unvaccinated people. That changes a bit with the boost, but only for a few months. Therefore, you have to ask yourself the general question of whether you want to stick to the G-rules.”
For the summer, he considers the abolition of corona measures such as the obligation to wear masks to be desirable. “I advocate a summer mode and a winter mode. We could therefore do without measures in summer, but measures should be taken in autumn and winter. I like to compare that with summer and winter tire mode.”
Streeck emphasized that even a survived corona infection protects against the virus for a while: “Let me put it this way: 26 European countries see the recovered status as at least 6 months. I don’t think the scientists in all of these countries are wrong.” However, he himself “prefers to get infected with a triple vaccination,” he emphasized.
