Dusseldorf In addition to turnover and profit, another key figure is becoming increasingly important in companies: carbon dioxide emissions.
Due to the steep rise in the price of CO2, emissions are increasingly becoming a financial burden. At the same time, customers, investors and potential employees insist on the environmental compatibility of companies.
Both young and established technology companies are therefore sensing a new field of business: They are developing software with which customers should be able to measure, reduce and, if possible, even offset CO2 emissions – without having to laboriously collect data from different systems.
Salesforce has just announced a new version of the Sustainability Cloud that also takes suppliers into account, while a new program from SAP makes it possible to calculate emissions for individual products. Microsoft and Oracle are also working on solutions.
