Samsung will launch the semiconductor chips it has developed for short-range wireless connectivity with Exynos Connect. Announcing that they are designing new products in areas such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and UWB, the company made an ambitious entry into the IoT market.

UWB is known as a relatively new wireless technology that can transfer data at high speeds using a wide frequency spectrum and short distances. Thanks to its ability to provide direction information, it is increasingly used to connect to digital switches and location trackers. It is stated that UWB technology is also used for mobile payments, smart homes and smart factories.

Qualcomm today introduced the most advanced processor in the middle segment by making a surprise. Here are the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 features…

The Exynos Connect U100 offers UWB connectivity with single digit centimeter accuracy and precise direction information (less than 5 degrees angle). It is worth noting that the new model is designed for use in smartphones, tablets, cars and IoT (Internet of Things) devices.

Samsung’s new UWB chip will be used in scenarios such as location tracking indoors such as shopping malls where GPS is ineffective. However, it will also offer the possibility to increase the accuracy of AR and VR applications.

Exynos Connect U100 model has features such as RF (Radio Frequency), baseband, onboard flash memory and power management. The company announced that they use STS (Encrypted Timestamp Function) and a secure hardware encryption technology to prevent hardware hacking attacks.

The U100 has been certified by the FiRa Consortium, which checks UWB devices for interoperability. It has also been announced to be compatible with CCC (Car Connectivity Consortium) Digital Key Release 3.0, which enables it to be used as a digital car key for compatible connected vehicles. Exynos Connect U100 is expected to be used in future Galaxy smartphones and location trackers.

Joonsuk Kim, Vice President of Connectivity Development Team at Samsung Electronics, said, “Our Exynos Connect U100 combines advanced range and positioning capabilities with strong security to enable hyperconnection between people and everyday objects. It also feeds a number of new applications in the positioning process. Building on our technology leadership in communications technologies, we are committed to driving innovation in short-distance communications solutions to transform the way we connect and relate to the world around us.” made statements.
