Electric car maker Rivian is having to recall vehicles because a steering fastener “may not have been tightened sufficiently,” CEO RJ Scaringe said in a letter to the company’s customers obtained by Bloomberg News. The company is recalling about 13,000 vehicles “as a precautionary measure,” although the problem was only spotted in seven vehicles. According to a person familiar with the matter, the costs of the recall are not significant.

The recall is a setback for Rivian, which has recently struggled with production issues and component shortages. The company also surprisingly increased pre-order prices in March.

Rivian builds the battery-electric R1T pickup and the R1S sport utility vehicle for consumers. Also, the automaker has struck a deal with Amazon, one of its largest shareholders, to build 100,000 EV vans by the end of this decade.

“The safety of our customers is always our top priority and we are committed to fixing this issue on all affected vehicles as soon as possible,” a Rivian spokesman said in a statement. “We will make any necessary adjustments free of charge at one of our service centers.”
