Rising salaries are increasingly becoming a problem for medium-sized companies

Berlin The cleaning company Gies dienstleistungen was hit several times in the past year: the standard wages rose twice, as did social security contributions. The personnel costs of the Hessian company climbed by up to 30 percent. Only a part of this can be passed on to the customers – according to the words of the managing directors Adrian and David-Christopher Gies, the high personnel costs are therefore becoming an ever greater burden.

A problem that many companies are currently confronted with, as an exclusive survey by Kienbaum HR consultants shows. According to this, about every second company has significantly increased its personnel budgets for the year 2023. Small and medium-sized companies in particular are increasingly under pressure.

Every fourth company with fewer than 250 employees stated that the increased personnel budgets limit their entrepreneurial options. In companies with fewer than 2,000 employees, it was one in five.
