Ripple (XRP) Representative Responds to Those Who Question the Decentralization of the Network!

As known Ripple The most common nodes on the Ledger are the default Unique Node Lists (dUNL). Majority of validators use them. Behind these dUNLs are two different central entities. However, is XRP decentralized?

Why Do XRP Validators Trust dUNL?

Wo Jake, one of the XRP community representatives, said that the default Unique Node List (dUNL) for XRP Ledger nodes and its cryptocurrency He made a post on Twitter about his role in network architecture.

As he himself emphasized, in XRP Ledger each validator has its own Unique Node List. Three commonly known UNLs; Ripple is owned by the XRP Ledger Foundation (XRPLF) and Coil.

“Verifiers Don’t Have to Use the Central System”

Starting Q3 2022, the default Unique Node List (dUNL) will now consist of UNLs of Ripple and XRPLF. However, any authenticator can use the dUNL or create a new UNL at any time.

However, most validators choose to keep up with dUNL, which is backed by institutions that have XRPL support and have long proven their credibility.

“Ripple Is Designed As Decentralized Like Bitcoin and Ethereum”

According to Jake, dUNL was included in the default presets available after installing the rippled software. However, according to the representative, the decentralization of XRPL transactions is not affected by these settings:

“The XRPL consensus protocol is “by design” decentralized, just like Bitcoin. The same logic applies to Ethereum.”

Jake added the following to those who claim to be the hub of the XRP network.

“This is why critics of XRPL decentralization should not address aspects of it related to technical design. As with any mainstream Blockchain protocol, the technical decentralization of XRPL has nothing to do with the “political situation” around the network.”
