Luxembourg Retailers in the euro zone achieved less sales in September, but after a stronger month in the previous month. The Eurostat statistics office announced on Friday in Luxembourg that revenues fell by 0.3 percent compared to the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, sales in September rose by 2.5 percent.

More sales were achieved with food and fuel from August to September. In contrast, revenues from other goods fell. Sales in online retail fell noticeably. This is likely to be a result of the economic opening with fewer corona restrictions, from which the stationary retail sector in particular benefits. Online retail, on the other hand, is losing some of its market share, which has grown immensely during the pandemic.
