On October 22nd, a friend discovered the battered corpses of the German emigrants. According to BILD information, Bernard von Bredow is said to have had burns on various parts of the body. Apparently he was tortured and then shot in the neck. According to the autopsy report, his daughter is said to have bled to death after being shot in the stomach.

In addition to the arrested German, two other German citizens are wanted, said the head of the homicide department of the national police, Hugo Grance, on Tuesday the local radio station “Monumental”.

All three would be suspected of being involved in the act and possibly being behind it.

As a possible motive, Grance named the robbery of valuable, old instruments that the victim had owned. In an apartment of the arrested person in the city of Areguá, in addition to firearms, musical instruments that allegedly belonged to the victim were found, reported the newspaper “ABC Color”, citing the commissioner.

Both victims died from gunfire, presumably from the same weapon, said forensic doctor Héctor Meza.

The father was a scientist from Bavaria. His Paraguayan papers were issued in 2016, so he had lived in the South American country for at least five years, at least temporarily. Media reports said that he also repaired musical instruments such as violins.
