E-prescription and e-report can be given within the scope of remote health service
The Ministry of Health published the “Regulation on the Delivery of Remote Services” in the Official Gazette today. Within the scope of the regulation, the remote health service, which is applied in many parts of the world, will also be implemented in Turkey. In this context, patients who want to be treated remotely will be able to be examined by a doctor in another region.
In order for a healthcare institution to provide remote healthcare services, it must obtain an activity certificate. If the health facility meets the necessary conditions, the Ministry provides remote health services. An operating license will be issued. Necessary measures will also be taken for identity verification, which is considered risky at first. Accordingly, a secondary authentication will be applied by the health facility providing the service. The Ministry of Health defines the regulation with the following sentences:
It refers to the health service provided by the healthcare professional to the person requesting the health service via the remote health information system in the health facilities that have obtained the license to operate in accordance with the provisions of this regulation.
