Ravensburger CEO Maier on transformation – and what games reveal about the state of society

Dusseldorf Who doesn’t know them: Games like “Memory”, “Malefiz” or “Catch the Hat”. They all come from Ravensburger, the game manufacturer from the town of the same name in southern Upper Swabia. In the new episode of Handelsblatt Disrupt, Handelsblatt Editor-in-Chief Sebastian Matthes speaks to Ravensburger CEO Clemens Maier, who is the fourth generation to run the company.

The two talk about the transformation of the company, international expansion and the question of why Ravensburger still exists. Because traditional game manufacturers have often been declared dead. In addition, the company fell into an existential crisis a few years ago due to daring investments in the TV and cinema business.

In the podcast, Maier speaks openly about what the company has learned from its mistakes. Also from the scandal surrounding the books about the “young chief Winnetou”.
