RISC-V is an open source processor architecture founded in 2014 and managed by RISC-V International. The mission of the new company, Quintauris, is to provide a single source that enables RISC-V devices and to promote new standards in the fragmented RISC-V industry.

Essentially, it allows any company to take the RISC-V architecture and produce its own processor. Thus, ARM can avoid closed ecosystems like AMD and Intel. It is estimated that 16 billion cores will be sold by 2030 for RISC-V, which has grown rapidly since its debut.

Apple, one of the important names in the technology world, quietly introduced its own artificial intelligence language model, “Ferret”.

It may seem surprising at first glance that Qualcomm invests in RISC-V even though it produces ARM architecture-based chips. It also uses RISC-V architecture in the Snapdragon Wear Platform together with Google.

Quintauris is not the only organization trying to set the standard for the RISC-V world. The RISC-V Software Ecosystem (RISE), which has official support from key players such as Google, Intel, NVIDIA and even Qualcomm, also serves the same purpose. While RISE focuses on software, Quintauris is spearheading next-generation hardware development.
