Local election date has been announced as March 28, 2024!

Local elections are elections held to determine local governments in Turkey. Elections held to determine mayors, metropolitan mayors, municipal council members, provincial council members, headmen and councils of elders have an important place in terms of Turkey’s democracy.

Elections are held every 5 years. The last local elections were held in 2019. In the 2024 local elections, elections will be held in all 81 provinces of Turkey, all 922 districts, all 30 metropolitan municipalities and all 328 provincial municipalities.
