Prosecutors Investigating Bankman-Fried’s Political Links

According to a report published in the New York Times, one of the most read newspapers in the United States, prosecutors are the former boss of FTX. Sam Bankman-Fried and examines the political connections of the two rulers.

Citing unnamed sources, the NYT reported that executives focused on political donations, especially to Republican and Democrat figures. Prosecutors contacted political figures identified as donors following the SBF’s arrest earlier in the week.

Emailing a large law firm involved in Democratic politics, the prosecution asked for information about Bankman-Fried’s donations to the company. Among the names who were allegedly emailed is Hakeem Jeffries, the Democrat deputy who assumed the leadership of the group in the House of Representatives. Democratic sources announced earlier this week that Bankman-Fried plans to return a total of $1 million in donations.

The NYT claimed that the prosecutors’ focus was not only on Democrats, but Bankman-Fried also made large campaign donations to Republican political figures.

Will SBF Be Extradited to America?

The former boss of FTX, who was arrested in the Bahamas on the first day of the week, faces money laundering and fraud charges. Although Bankman-Fried initially did not want to be extradited to the United States, he changed his mind after his arrest due to the poor prison conditions he faced.
