US District Judge Analisa Torres recently Ripple decided on the Daubert Acts in his case. Indeed, the SEC and Defendants submitted a new motion on the same motion. While the Community continued to await summary judgment in the case, the parties filed a new application for adjournment.

Why Ripple and SEC Want to Extend Deadline

Lawyer James FilanHe noted that Ripple and the SEC filed a joint petition asking the court to extend the deadline. The parties requested the court to extend the deadline until 13 January 2023 for submitting the Daubert Proposals.

Also included in the XRP case is the court’s decision to present the attached exhibits in public dossier, along with corrections in line with the December 19, 2022 sealing order.

Ripple and SECstated that this request was made due to the upcoming holidays and the schedules of some lawyers. It also lists the complexity and number of fixes requested by parties and third parties.

As Koinfinans.com reported, the District Judge partially accepted the SEC’s request; Ripple stated that it directly accepted the demands of MoneyGram and third parties. However, the court also ordered that the pending motions be terminated.

The court added that the SEC rejected a request to redact the names and details of consulting firms that supported expert witnesses.
