Phishing Attacks Alarm in Solana Ecosystem: Security Company Warns

cryptocurrency More than $4 million in assets were stolen from Solana wallets last month, according to a surprising announcement by security company ScamSniffer.

Sophisticated phishing attacks victimized approximately 4,000 users. Unlike Ethereum, Solana phishing attacks often involve direct transfers by exploiting weaknesses in transaction simulations.

In a recent development, an attacker known as Node Drainer emerged in a holiday phishing attempt. Node Drainer has increased its number of victims, stealing more than $2 million in less than two weeks. Solana wallet scammers were tracked by ScamSniffer. So far they have stolen approximately $2.14 million from 2,189 victims.

An address associated with Node Drainer reportedly made over $1 million in profits by converting stolen USDC into ETH via AllBridge.

According to the statement made by ScamSniffer, the main stolen assets include ANALOS, Bonk, SILLY, MOBILE and others in the Solana ecosystem.

Unlike most thefts on Ethereum, which stem from malicious confirmation issues, most phishing signatures on Solana involve directly initiating transfers.
