Marvel star Paul Rudd became famous as “Ant-Man” through the “Avengers” films. Now he can add a new job to his portfolio: He is the “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2021.
The “People” magazine chooses a guy as the winner every year. Then on Wednesday the surprise: This year it’s actor Rudd.
The 52-year-old can’t believe it himself. And his wife Julie (53), with whom he has been married for 18 years? DIE had to laugh.
In an interview with “People”, Paul Rudd reveals very sympathetically: his Julie was the only one he told about his new title before the announcement. The couple have two children together, Jack (17) and Darby (12).

“She was amazed,” he says. “But she was also very nice. She giggled and was in shock, but then she said, ‘Oh, you got it right.’ She probably didn’t tell the truth, but what should she say? “
Nice, self-deprecating, friendly, hard-working – Paul Rudd knows all these descriptions about himself. But sexy? That was also new to him.
“I am aware that people will say, ‘WHAT ??’,” says Rudd. He himself thinks similarly: “There are just so many people who should get this award before me.”
But now that he has the “Sexiest Man” award in his pocket, he already has a plan: FINALLY, get involved in the cool guys’ cool parties!

“I hope I’m finally invited to some of these sexy dinners with Clooney and Pitt and B. Jordan,” jokes Rudd.
“And I suppose I’ll be on yachts a lot. I look forward to expanding my yacht life. I’ll probably try to get better at brooding in really soft light. I like to think. “
Wonderfully self-deprecating!
The magazine “People” has awarded the title annually since 1985. The first prize winner was Hollywood star Mel Gibson. Before Rudd, actor Michael B. Jordan (“Black Panther”) was named “Sexiest Man Alive”, before that musician John Legend (“All of Me”). Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, Richard Gere, Matt Damon and George Clooney are among the award winners.

“Captain America” loses against “Ant-Man”
The “Antman” star is certain that his friends will make fun of him a lot. Rudd: “I’ll really enjoy it. I will stand by it. I will have business cards printed. All my friends are going to destroy me and that’s exactly what I expect from them too. That’s why they’re my friends. “
Meanwhile, acting colleague Chris Evans (40) looks into the tube again. Because the Mucki man, also known as “Captain America” in the “Avengers” universe, is still longingly waiting for his title.

Evans should actually be “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2021, but because he accidentally uploaded a penis photo on the Internet, “People” rowed back and instead chose Michael B. Jordan as the winner. Now there were big rumors last week that Evans would be awarded in 2021. As of today it has been clear: nothing came of it at the second attempt either.
