  • One of Asia’s leading banking companies is entering the metaverse by making a new collaboration with an Ethereum-based metaverse coin.

According to a recent press release, multinational financial services giant DBS has launched a virtual world platform to create an interactive metaverse experience. The Sandbox (SAND) cooperated with.

The partnership makes DBS the first Singapore company to partner with The Sandbox and the first bank in Singapore to enter the metaverse. It also marks a new milestone in DBS’s journey to continually explore the potential of Web 3.0 opportunities to benefit its customers and the wider community.

The two will collaborate to create DBS BetterWorld, which aims to highlight the importance of building a sustainable eco-friendly world. To create a virtual showcase, DBS will receive a 3×3 LAND parcel in The Sandbox as part of the deal.

LANDs are customizable units of digital real estate in the metaverse of SAND that players can own as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Sebastian Borget, co-founder and COO of The Sandbox, states that the virtual world platform has created a special land called “SingaporeVerse” that aims to bring Singaporean culture to the platform.

“As the first bank in Singapore, we invite DBS to The Sandbox, where we will join forces to create a neighborhood on our virtual map that will bring Singapore culture to life in the meta-universe in a very engaging, fair and inclusive way that is open to all.

ESG [çevresel, sosyal ve yönetişim] issues matter to us and we look forward to collaborating on an experience that invites our audiences to make a positive global impact, explore the creative possibilities of our platform, and perhaps find the next life-changing opportunity in the metaverse.
