While the hacking group Lapsus$ was responsible for the cyber attack, it turned out that 250 GB of the 1 TB data seized contained important information about the company’s high-end graphics cards, including the RTX 3090, which has been on the agenda recently.

Lapsus$ demanded a ransom from Nvidia in order not to share important information it had obtained. The group demanded that the company remove the LHR algorithm, which restricts cryptocurrency mining on high-end graphics cards, and make the graphics card drivers open source. Otherwise, important information will be shared.

After Nvidia confirmed the hacking incident, an unknown person sent a screenshot to TechPowerUp that claimed to have DLSS 2.2 codes. The image in question contains C++ files and even a programming guide that guides developers to integrate DLSS technology into their games.

Nvidia has not yet made any statement about whether the document in question is genuine. However, allegedly, this document was shared by the group in order to show the seriousness of the business. Apart from this, we should state that the Lapsus$ group has given the company until Friday to meet its demands.
