Nobel laureate sees uncertainty in the global economy

Joseph Stiglitz loves to travel. For a long time, the pandemic prevented what is probably the best-known economist in the USA. Now the winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics is drawn back to the people – especially beyond the American borders. Stiglitz is currently in Europe with stations in Brussels and Paris. This also puts him closer to the war in Ukraine, which from the United States’ perspective is far away.

The New Yorker is shocked that war in Europe is still possible 77 years after the end of the Second World War. The dimensions of the consequences for the global economy could not yet be estimated. The risks, especially for the emerging countries, are enormous.
