Dusseldorf, Berlin In the struggle for the trust of investors and auditors, an investigation report is intended to relieve the ailing real estate group Adler Group. As the group announced on Tuesday, an international law firm checked 800,000 electronic documents such as e-mails or calendar entries and found no evidence of misconduct.

Adler withheld the documents from forensic experts and auditors from KPMG last year. According to Handelsblatt information, the law firm that is now conducting the investigation is the US law firm White & Case.

The review did not result in “no incriminating findings,” said Adler. According to the group, which has been looking for a new auditor for months in vain, Adler wants to “of course make the report available” to a future auditor. Apparently, Adler does not want to grant direct insight into the original documents. “All data relevant to the audit has already been compiled in a data room,” the group said.
