It was revealed that Microsoft aims to launch new Xbox consoles in 2028. The company plans to continue its multiple console approach in the new generation, as in Series X/S.
The new generation Xbox consoles Series X and Series S, introduced by Microsoft in 2020, continue to attract great attention worldwide. However, players are also wondering when the next consoles will be released. New internal conversations that emerged as part of the FTC lawsuit in June also provide new information on this issue.
According to documents first spotted by Axios, Microsoft aims to launch new Xbox consoles in 2028. The documents belong to a meeting held in May 2022. Many senior executives attended this meeting, including Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, CFO Amy Hood and Xbox President Phil Spencer.
Microsoft plans to release multiple consoles in the next generation, just like Xbox Series X/S
At the meeting, in addition to 2028 plans, multiple console pSignals were also given that it could be put on the market. As it is known, Series S is a weaker and more affordable device, while Series X is a more powerful version that directly competes with PlayStation 5. The managers’ speeches at the meeting also show that this approach will continue.
