Dusseldorf A backend developer in Poland, an account manager for the German-speaking market: the list of employees that the Dutch start-up Recruitee is currently looking for is long. As with so many companies.

And yet the personnel manager of the international software provider for application processes says: It is much more important to keep your best employees than to hire masses of new people. HR boss Rebecca Clarke relies on so-called stay interviews. According to their own statements, they run at least one per month.

“Most of the time it’s about team leaders and managers who are critical to the team’s success and whose loss would have a particularly negative impact on the performance of the entire team.” The key question Clarke asks is, “What would have to happen for you to quit? And how do we prevent that?”

Since Corona, the phenomenon of the “Great Resignation” has been spreading worldwide – i.e. a wave of layoffs in the wake of the pandemic. Above all, employees who have already gained their first professional experience show a great willingness to change jobs.
