‘The documents given about the US congress raid are not enough’

The House of Representatives Special Committee announced that the responses they have received so far from companies such as Meta, Twitter, Reddit and Google regarding the investigation have been insufficient and therefore they have called company officials to testify about the investigation.

Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson used the following statements on the subject;

Two key questions for the House Special Committee are how the spread of misinformation and violent extremism are contributing to the violent attack on our democracy, and what steps social media platforms are taking to keep people from organizing.

It is very disappointing that, after months of interaction, we do not have the necessary documentation and information to answer these basic questions. The Special Committee is working hard to get answers for the American people and to ensure that something like January 6th never happens again. We certainly cannot allow such important work to be delayed any longer.

Committee; Meta asked YouTube, Twitter and Reddit companies to hand over user activity and data from January 6, when the uprising began, by January 27. Following this statement, a statement came from the Google and Meta front that the necessary cooperation would be made with the House of Representatives Special Committee. It was even learned that Meta submitted the requested documents to the committee in a short time.
