New Announcement from Borsa İstanbul! When will BIST be opened? Are Transactions Canceled?

After the second circuit breaker was applied in the morning, it was decided to stop the transactions in the BIST.

A new notification came from BIST to KAP at 17.21. According to the latest decision, transactions on BIST will restart on February 15, 2023 and all transactions made today will be cancelled.

BIST’s statement to KAP is as follows:

“Temporary Closure of Equity Market and Equity and Equity Index Derivatives Markets in the Futures and Options Market for 5 Business Days and Cancellation of Transactions Dated 08/02/2023

In order to ensure the reliable, transparent, effective, stable, fair and competitive operation of Borsa İstanbul Markets due to the increase in volatility and unusual price movements after the earthquake disaster, Borsa İstanbul A.Ş. Pursuant to paragraph 1 of Article 39 of the Regulation on Principles of Exchange Activities, the Equity Market and Equity and Equity Index Derivatives Markets within the Futures and Options Market will be closed on February 8, 2023 at 11:00 for 5 working days (until the evening of February 14, 2023). and taking into account the low transaction volume that does not allow healthy price formation in closed markets, it has been decided to cancel all transactions carried out on 8 February 2023 in accordance with paragraph 1-c of Article 33 of the BİAŞ Regulation titled “Cancellation of Orders and Transactions by the Exchange.”
