Firefox recently published a blog post. In this post, the company announced that it has acquired a startup that detects fake reviews on the internet. The name of the mentioned start-up company is FakeSpot. FakeSpot is an organization that aims to detect false and fake comments on the Internet in general. The company, which works in partnership with websites, filters the comments received on those sites and determines whether they are fake.
FakeSpot does this parsing process by mastering all of the artificial intelligence and machine learning patterns. The application, which filters incoming comments, interprets the similarities between these patterns and comments. In case of excessive similarity between comments, FakeSpot removes that comment from the site. In this way, fake comments prepared by artificial intelligence are prevented.
The Firefox team will also prevent fake comments made in the browser thanks to the FakeSpot start-up company they have just purchased. The company, which will integrate the FakeSpot application with Firefox, will also prevent fake comments in Firefox.
