The leader in Turkey's second-hand car market has been determined! Not Fiat anymore

The leader in Turkey’s second-hand car market has been determined! Not Fiat anymore

The best-selling second-hand car brand in Turkey has been announced. Fiat, which we are used to seeing at the top, fell to second place.

The main reason for this observed large increase is attributed to the new regulation that allows Class B car license holders to drive motorcycles up to 125 cc. Because it made motorcycle use more attractive, especially among the young population, and led to an explosion in motorcycle sales.

In the same period, Renault was the most popular brand with 12.9% among automobile brands with traffic registrations. Renault was followed by Fiat (10.3 percent), Chery (7.5 percent), Toyota (7.2 percent) and Volkswagen (5.7 percent). Hyundai, Peugout, Dacia, Skoda and Opel were also in the top ten with rates ranging from 4.3 percent to 5.7 percent.

While there was a 9.3 percent decrease in the total number of vehicles recorded in February compared to the previous month, the large increase in motorcycle sales has already signaled how the change in urban mobility and transportation preferences will occur in the coming period.
