After the social media platform Facebook changed its name to Meta, the crypto industry and world-famous brands started to turn to the Metaverse field.
Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, and Alex Reeve, the company’s Product Leader, published a blog post about Metaverse technology, which is circulating these days.
“What Does Coinbase Think About Metaverse?”, which includes the thoughts of Coinbase company with Metaverse technology. In the blog post, it was stated that the company’s new plan is to work on projects that will facilitate users’ access to Metvaerse.
The most striking part of the blog post was undoubtedly the NFT-based new identity creation project that will allow users to enter the Metaverse.
Coinbase executives used the following statements for Metvaserse, which they define as the future of the internet:
“The Metaverse is a massive scale, persistent, interactive and interoperable real-time platform of interconnected virtual worlds where people can socialize, work, trade, play and produce.”
Stating that Metaverse is not just for gaming, virtual reality or Web3, Coinbase CEO stated that there will not be only one Metaverse in the future, on the contrary, there will be more than one Metaverse connected to each other.
Coinbase executives stated that their goal is to allow users to navigate the different worlds of Metaverse with a unique ID card and said:
“At Coinbase, we want an identity to be produced for Metaverse. The Metaverse identity indicates who you are and how you identify among the Metaverse worlds. Metaverse entry and validation should be easy. In this context, the aim of our work is to create a unique username NFT that can turn into a wallet.”
