The Competition Authority opened an investigation against Meta about the “data sharing obligation” in January 2021.

META Platforms (Facebook), WhatsApp LLC, and Madoka Turkey Bilişim Hizmetleri appear before the Competition Board to make oral defenses within the scope of the investigation. The Competition Board opened an ex officio investigation against Meta on 11 January 2021 regarding the “data sharing obligation”.

The Competition Board will listen to the verbal defenses of the company officials at 10:30 tomorrow. In addition, the announcement of the decision on the investigation is expected within 15 days.
