Mercedes invested in solar energy in Aksaray Factory

According to the news of Future Flow Life, one of Turkey’s leading sites in the fields of sustainability and clean energy, Mercedes-Benz Turkey has commissioned the Solar Energy Power Plant with an installed power of 1.3 MWp at the Aksaray Truck Factory. While it is aimed to prevent approximately 900 tons of carbon emissions annually with the power plant, the energy obtained will provide benefits to the environment equivalent to planting 22 thousand 120 trees.

Mercedes commissioned the 3.5 MWp Solar Power Plant installed in the Marketing Center in June. The company continues its sustainability efforts with the new power plant.

Emphasizing that Mercedes-Benz Türk aims to achieve zero CO2 emissions during production by 2039 within the scope of the ‘Green Targets’ program, Mercedes-Benz Türk Aksaray Factory Director Ulf Raese said that they will produce 1 million 900 thousand kWh of electrical energy annually with the Solar Power Plant to be opened in Aksaray. He said they were targeting.

8 percent of the factory’s electricity needs will be met from this power plant.

Underlining that they will continue their work on the Solar Power Plant at the Mercedes-Benz Türk Aksaray Truck Factory, Ulf Raese stated that while electricity will be produced through the power plant, approximately 900 tons of carbon emissions per year will be prevented.

The energy obtained from the power plant will provide benefits equivalent to the 1-year electricity consumption of 656 households and the benefit of planting 22 thousand 120 trees for the environment.
