MediaTek Dimensity 8200 introduced! Here are the features

Competition in the mobile processor market is getting fiercer. MediaTek, which entered the race in the upper segment with the Dimensity 9000, now aims to increase its claim in the middle segment with the Dimensity 8200. The company’s new processor winks at the next level with its performance.

MediaTek winks to the upper segments with Dimensity 8200

Positioned below the Dimensity 9000 models, which are in the flagship position, the 8200 was developed with the aim of offering high performance to cheaper phones. Being the successor of Dimensity 8100, Dimensity 8200 includes some important improvements.

MediaTek’s new processor has stepped directly into the region of flagship models with TSMC’s 4 nm production process. It is worth remembering that the A16 Bionic processor that powers the iPhon 14 Pro is also produced with 4 nm technology. On the other hand, let’s say that the Dimensity 8100 is produced by TSMC with 5 nm technology.

Another important change occurred in the architecture of the processor. The Dimensity 8100 featured a dual-cluster design with four Cortex-A78 cores and an equal number of Cortex-A55 cores. The Dimensity 8200, on the other hand, adopts a three-cluster design like the high-end Dimensity 9200 and Qualcomm’s own flagships.

The Dimenstiy 8200’d is home to a single Cortex-A78 core running at 3.1 GHz as well as three Cortex-A78 cores running at 3.0 GHz. In addition, for lower tasks, there are four Cortex-A55 cores with a speed of 2.0 GHz.

The GPU on the new processor remains unchanged, but MediaTek has made it a bit more capable by pairing the ARM Mali-G610 graphics engine with next-gen HyperEngine 6.0 optimization tools. MediaTek has also equipped the Dimensity 8200 with the new Imagiq 785 chip to handle camera features that allow for 4K HDR video capture.

The company has also developed artificial intelligence for clearer photos. In addition, MediaTek, which has taken important steps in connection, offers Wi-Fi 6E, 5G and Bluetooth 5.3 support in its new processor.

The first smartphones supported by the Dimensity 8200, which defies the flagship models with its features, are expected to be released in December. So what do you think about the new MediaTek’s new processor? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
